We at the Friendswood Library know how much our community loves to read, and there is little we love more than getting *the* book (or books!) into the hands and onto the nightstands of our patrons!
We are excited to present our newest service, Friendswood Reads, a personalized reading recommendations service tailored specifically to your interests. Unlike algorithm- based reader advisory services, we aim to provide suggested books with a one-on-one approach to service.. just like we do when you come into the Library!
To receive a list of recommended books, simply fill out the Friendswood Reads form found at the bottom of the blog home page. Tell us about books you've enjoyed in the past and what made you love them. We will reply in a timely manner with authors and titles for you to consider. Beyond genre, you can consider how elements such as plot, character development, length and mood play into your appreciation of a book. Do you enjoy a story with strong character development? A fast-paced plot? Do you like mysteries with twists and turns, or do you prefer a police procedural thriller? Are stand-alone novels more your style, or do you love delving into a new series? The more information you give us about what you like (or don't like!) in a book, the more it will help us with our suggestions!
